~ About five months ago I finished an article about how to hunt grouse without a dog, and it now appears in the October 2006 issue of OUTDOOR LIFE (subscription copies only). The title, seemingly facetious yet strategically accurate (I think), is “Don't Pussyfoot the Thunderbird“. Click on Click Here To View This Article . ~ There's a new article of mine, “THE CHOLESTEROL WARS: Venison vs Beef” in the ARTICLES section. It's excerpted from my 2004 make-more-use-of-your-deer book, and uses nutrition data from the USDA website...and I think you'll be surprised. Venison is significantly higher in minerals and vitamins, but slightly higher in cholesterol.This article will appear in a 2007 issue of Deer & Deer Hunting magazine.
~ My article, “Shed-Hunter's Best Friend” about training a dog to hunt for shed antlers appears in the March 2006 issue of DEER & DEER HUNTING.
